CARE PORTAL
Careportal is a technology platform that makes it easy for churches to hear about real needs of children and families in our community. Caseworkers at nonprofits, government organization, schools etc enter in needs of ppl they interact with and then churches can see those needs and help.
Where the Careportal team comes into play is we get to be the hands and feet of Jesus and as needs come in, we can get items and deliver to the family. The Careportal platform just helps safely handle the back end logistics but that’s not something you need to know if you are on this team. We need people that are willing to give up 2-3 hours every other month to go give a gift to a family that is desperately needing it. It could be clothes, a bed, groceries, diapers, etc. but our goal is to go provide these tangible needs and then love on the family. Take time to care for them, pray with them, and invite them to be apart of our Troy church family if they don’t already have a church home. We want to make connections and not just meet needs physically but also spiritually. But often times the door to the spiritual is through physical need. James says “Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, 16 and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do?
17 So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough.”
