Families Count is a six-week gospel-centered parenting class and mentoring program offered through local churches to assist at-risk parents who are working to achieve permanency with their families.
Classes are offered by local churches that have been specially trained by the professional staff of Lifeline Children’s Services. This church-led process assists participants in developing a network of support that can continue beyond the six weeks of classes. A goal of the program is to put protective factors in place for families to provide accountability for parents while fostering personal growth and development.
With a goal of sustained change, classes are designed for a group setting, which provides accountability and fosters self-awareness as well as personal growth and development.
This also provides the opportunity for the teachers to teach Gospel-centered material with the goal of evangelism and support of our community.
Every birth family participating in Families Count will have the option of being matched with a mentor who will provide coaching, prayer, and emotional support.
